Winter germs
It is that time of year for fuzzy socks, warm blankies, winter PJ's and .....SICKNESS. I think like most of our community we have had our fair share of winter bugs and we are hopefully on the mend. To help us with our fight against the winter sickies, please keep your child home until they are well enough to return to the centre. As COVID-19 is threatening our livelihood once more we are taking the presentation of sick children even more seriously at this time.
We are trying our best to stop the spread of any infections within the centre by ramping up our already strict health and hygiene practices.
Things to look out for:
* Lethargy * Vomiting/ Diarrhoea *Flu type symptoms
* High temperatures * Runny nose *General feeling of being unwell
* ANY SYMPTOMS requiring ongoing need for paracetamol
Thank you for your help
Hello everyone....
Our current centre focus is on Quality Area 5. (National Quality Standards)
RELATIONSHIPS WITH CHILDREN
Good relationships early in life help children to connect with others, build positive friendships and support children to self-regulate their emotions.
Research shows relationships are central to children developing acceptance, self-esteem and higher functioning thinking skills that contribute to positive learning and life outcomes. Educators can take an active role in nurturing, supporting and promoting children's relationships and social skills.
For relationships to be meaningful, interactions need to be warm, caring and responsive. When attention is given to building connections and maintaining them over time, children are more likely to feel a sense of security, well-being and belonging.

Important Notice
It is important, very important, that we know who is at our Centre at any point in time.
If there is a fire, unforeseen threat, or anything like that, we need to know every staff member and child on the premises.
This is why children MUST be signed into our service and signed out everyday.
It is a QLD Government regulation that all children are required to be signed into the premises on arrival.
Junior Kindy News
We started off discussing the colour blue and reading a story called the green bean. We found a rocket ship in the book, and noticed that Hazel had rockets on her pants. We then pretended to be rocket ships and flew around the room, we saw some stars on the way and found Ayla had stars on her pants. We got out the boxes and made a big rocket ship, after awhile we made the boxes into cars and used crepe paper as seat belts
We got some new toys to play with today! We used the bricks and rocks to make houses and enclosures for the dinosaurs. Then we all had fun tossing the rocks into the box. We sung 10 dinosaurs sitting on a wall. We drew what we thought were dinosaurs climbing up rocks and we added real plants so the dinosaurs could eat them!!
We read the story called I'm a dirty dinosaur. We discussed the words used in the story like snout, stamp and wash. We were able to point to the parts of ourselves that the dinosaur had to wash. We also did the actions that went with the story. We used the boxes to make houses for the plastic dinosaurs, we also added some blocks as well. We coloured in a TRex as well
Welcome to our Team!
