Hello from Nursery 2
Welcome to our October update. This month is certainly moving along very quickly, this week Liam joined our group, we are looking forward to him settling in and making new friends.
We are continuing with our textures and art experiences.Earlier this week we set up two sand experiences, one wet with some colour mixed through it and another tray of dry sand which we added the trucks and cars to, both very popular with all of the children. We have used a variety of tools for our paintings and will continue along with this theme next month as well.
The children are showing lots of interest in the books so we used the computer in conjunction with the Very Hungry Caterpillar book so the children could follow the book along with the narration and pictures on the computer. We had some excited voices repeating the words as they followed the story.
I have also sent out a note on Educa about what to expect with transitions which will occur around Christmas time/New year to the Toddler room.If you haven't already returned your enrolment form for next year could you please do so soon as we can then work out children and rooms for next year.
Thank you to the families who attended our Parent Interviews, we will have them again in the New Year around late February.Remember you are welcome to speak to us at any time if you have any concerns.
As the weather has become quite warm recently could you please pack some summer clothes so we can change the children if they become too hot.
Until next time

Welcome to the month of October in the Toddlers room. What a busy month we have had. I think the highlight for most of the children would have to be going out into the big yard of an afternoon, as many of you parents know, it can be quite tricky convincing them to come home at pick up from that yard. It is lovely seeing them venture out into that yard, exploring all the different areas and testing their physical skills. Although I do have to admit it makes me a bit sad seeing them growing up so much, knowing they will be leaving our room very soon.
What a busy month or so we have had for birthdays. We have had Matias, Morgan, Tia and Parker already turn 2, and we are just about to have Elias, Leo B, Anika, Sophie S, Miller and Rayansh turn 2. Watch out parents!! Happy Birthday to all these beautiful Toddlers.
Thank you again to all the parents that made it along to the Parent Teacher night, I hope you found it valuable. I also hope the transition information was valuable as well.
Our Toddlers children have been learning lots of personal/social skills this month. They all clean up after meal times, as well as pack away their sheets in their bags. They are also very slowly learning more social skills and what is acceptable. We have seen some very early concepts of sharing, by offering peers toys. We have also seen some early concepts of compassion and empathy emerging, with children acknowledging and even trying to comfort peers when they are upset.
As we ease into this nice summer weather, please ensure there are spare clothes in your child's bag, as well as a named hat.
Please get USB's/Money back to me ASAP if you are wanting copies of your child's photos so I can get this done. Also please ensure you have got your re-enrolment form back to Hayley so she can finish finalizing enrollments for 2021!

Wunya families and welcome to the October news letter.
We have been learning more sign language over the past few weeks. We can now sign our names and alphabet along with our numbers and colours. Over the next couple of weeks we will be learning how to sign some of our favorite songs including 'baa baa sheep' and 'twinkle twinkle little star'.
We have been exploring science through sensory play and cooking. We have made our own lava lamps, slime, playdoh, fizzing volcano and shaving foam. We have cooked our own cheesy creatures and made our own juice.
During our Spanish lessons we have been learning new songs including our welcome song to learn greetings, Hola and Adios (hello and goodbye), and counting 1-5.
1. Uno
2. Dos
3. Tres
4. Cuatro
5. Cinco
We have also been working hard to learn our positional words:
Arriba - up
Abajo - down
Debajo - under
A few reminders for families:
+ Hats are required each day for play
+ Sheets for rest time and any items you bring to care each day need to be labelled.

Hello families and wow it's October already!
We're currently getting ready for Halloween dress up on the last Friday of the month.
This month has seen us focus on M, N, O, P. The children have been practicing the sounds of each letter, brainstorming and discussing what words start with these particular letters and practicing the shapes that each letter is made of.
We have also been going through the colours individually to help some of our younger friends have transitioned recently, it also serves as a great reminder for our older friends and a great opportunity to rehash.
We've been speaking about the weather, however the weather has been pretty boring, being the same every day, until the last week of October! There has been some anxiety around storms so we've been listening to relaxing music with storm sounds, talking about and reading Warnayarra the rainbow snake and practicing meditation in the afternoons- around the times storms hit.
See you in November!

Wunya Families,
November is almost come and the end of the year is creeping fast. We race against the time to ensure the children has adequate skills and knowledge for their higher level education.
During October, our main priority was the letter formation practice and counting.Using the Casey Caterpillar methods each children had turn to practice their hand grip skills and practiced their basic writing steps by making various shape of lines. We counted from one to thirty and numbers recognition through the floor game. Each children had turn to point the number on the card.
Our learning wall is part of our routine program to refresh the children's memory not only for letters and numbers but also for shapes and colours. On a daily basis we engaged the children in discussion about the days of the week, the season's and weather. Reading books, movement and music session including our feeling discussion which played an important role in our daily program to regulate the children emotions.
We also celebrated the book week, the most popular day of the month because it was a fun day when the children dressed up as their favourite book's character. Thank you for all the families who supported the children in their preparation for this day. We aware it is not an easy task and this day would not be successful without your help.
xx
